Netiquette (Code of Conduct)

In the Duden dictionary, it is referred to as “The entirety of rules for social communication behaviour on the Internet” and describes a few basic principles of behaviour in digital communication, which should be known by everyone, but unfortunately are not always so. Therefore, here are a few reminders of how to behave socially on the Internet.

Respect your fellow students, your hosts and the infrastructure

  1. No verbal attacks, discrimination, sexist or racist remarks
The Fachschaft reserves the right to expel people on the basis of misconduct.
  2. Do not publish pictures or similar of people who have not agreed to this.
  3. Pay attention to legal regulations, copyright etc.
For illegal contents the platform, i.e. the student council, is liable as well as yourself. Appreciate the offer that students make for students here and do not harm yourself by putting it at risk.
  4. You do not use these services alone
Try to keep the platform as comfortable and usable as possible for others. Do not use unnecessary resources and do not spread spam.

Communication is difficult, especially in text form

In general, there is a person with feelings on the other side.

  1. First read, then think, then answer.
  2. In case of doubt, assume that your counterpart has good intentions.
  3. Be careful with sarcastical remarks. This is difficult to understand without gestures and facial expressions.
